Because Jace is very confident in his body and doesn't mind and knows it's only for artistic purposes. And just... Alec. Walking through the Institute, past Clary's room to see a naked Jace sprawled out and displayed. You think Alec would suddenly pick up sketching too? ;DDD<\/p>\n

Alec is going to scoff and walk away, really, he is - but instead he finds himself gesturing vaguely towards Jace\u2019s naked body, still temptingly on display. \u201cWould I have to be\u2026\u201d <\/p>\n

Hardly believing his ears, Jace surreptitiously pulls the corner of a blanket over his lap. Alec doesn\u2019t know if he\u2019s relieved or disappointed, and Clary has to bite her lip to keep from giggling. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was going for a Greek theme - Jace here is Achilles. And you\u2019d be perfect for Patroclus. So yes, nude would be good.\u201d Seeing that Alec is about to bolt, she relents, \u201cBut we can position you with your back towards me. Oh, that would be perfect, actually!\u201d<\/p>\n

Although this started as a way to tease Alec and maybe give him and Jace the push they so very obviously need, Clary can suddenly picture the image in her head and finds herself hoping Alec will agree. What a striking picture they would make, Alec\u2019s pale skin and dark hair against Jace\u2019s gold\u2026<\/p>\n

She\u2019s so distracted, she almost misses Alec\u2019s low voice, but he\u2019s not talking to her anyway. \u201cWhat\u2026 what do you think?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cUmm\u2026 sure, yeah. It\u2019s for art, after all.\u201d Jace is trying very hard to sound smooth, but he\u2019s blushing just as hotly as Alec is as he adds more quietly, \u201cI\u2019ve always liked that story. Achilles and Patroclus, I mean.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo have I.\u201d Clary might just as well have been invisible, they\u2019re so focused on each other. There\u2019s a smile playing on Alec\u2019s lips that makes her fingers twitch with the desire to put it on paper, and then Alec is taking off his clothes, his movements economical, business-like. His eyes remain locked on Jace, however, who\u2019s staring back with a look that\u2019s a mix of disbelief, hope and more than a little desire. Alec only turns away when he\u2019s completely naked, feeling as if he\u2019s just jumped off a cliff and can\u2019t see the bottom, but his voice is dry when he asks a wide-eyed Clary, \u201cSo. How do you want us?\u201d<\/p>\n

It ends up being one of Clary\u2019s best paintings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
